Bessie May Lachner, oldest child of Walter W. and Severina Lachner, died at the home of her parents in Rlverton township March 12, following a serious illness of several days duration. She was 13 years, 2 months and 14 days of age.

Bessie May Lachner was born on December 28, 1913, in Riverton township, where she spent her entire life. She graduated from the eighth grade in June, 1926, and was in her first year of high school. A little over two years ago she knelt with her father, mother and two little brothers in the little Fairview school room and gave her heart to Jesus. She loved her Bible and had an exceptionally clear understanding of its truths.

Bessie had a remarkably sweet, clear voice and gave joy to the Sunday school with her singing. She loved her Heavenly Father and even in her suffering was concerned about the ones who had not found their Savior.

She leaves to mourn their loss her father, mother, two brothers, Charles and Arthur; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lachner, a great grandfather, J. S. Ferris; several uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hanson of California, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Lachner, and Archie
Lachner and many other relatives and friends.

God sent her to us for thirteen precious years and while we will miss her, we would not call her back.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two thirty o'clock at the Congregational church, Rev. B. J. .Trickey officiating. Music was furnished by the high school girls glee club, and the members of her class attended in a body. Interment was made at Riverside.
