Hattie Schoening, 83, Spencer, died Feb. 24, 1995, at Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating.Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hattie Lynn Schoening, 83, Spencer, died Feb. 24, 1995, at Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer, with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating.
Hattie Lynn Schoening, the daughter of Knox and Katie Houston Shields, was born June 19, 1911, in Greenville, Tenn. She moved to Dickens at the age of six and later graduated from Spencer High School in 1929.
On Dec. 12, 1930, she married Delbert Schoening at Primghar and following their marriage, the couple made their home in Spencer.
Mrs. Schoening was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Dean; one daughter, Sharie; one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Lynn Schoening and his wife Judy, of Round Rock, Texas; four grandchildren; two brothers, Everett Shields of Spencer and Lowell Shields of Milford; three
sisters, Treva Lannan of Sheridan, Wyo., Wanda Bashman of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Evelyn Hugunin of Spencer.Source: The Daily Reporter, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa; March 4, 1995.
