Marlon Mills, a resident of Langdon for the past three years, died very suddenly yesterday afternoon, March 6, at the Garth Sorenson home northeast of Spencer. Mr. Mills had been at the Sorenson home all day cutting wood. About 4:30 he was taken with a sudden stroke of paralysis,and passed away a few minutes afterwards, without gaining consciousness. For the past few years, Mr. Mills has been ailing but has not been bedfast. His death was a great shock to his many friends and relatives. Mr. Mills was born August 6, 1860 at Guthrie Center, Ia., and at the time of his death was 67 years, 7 months and 1 day old.

Mr. Mills is survived by seven children, Levi, Leslie, Lawrence, Floyd and Hadley all of Clay county, Mrs. C. S. Harris living north of Dickens and Mrs. W. F. Flesler living north of Ruthven. He is also survived by four sisters, several grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon, March 9, at the Cobb funeral home, Spencer. Rev. W. F. Hurst of the Christian church will officiate. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery.
