Services for Emmett Harrison, 84, of Cherokee and formerly of Spencer, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Harrison died Wednesday at Cherokee Villa Nursing Home in Cherokee.

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services for Emmett R. Harrison, 84, Cherokee and formerly of Spencer, will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Mr. Harrison died at Cherokee Villa Nursing Home Saturday. The Rev. Jerry Brown will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

The Warner Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

He was born March 26, 1904, to Levi and Clara McGraw [Note: correct spelling is McCraw per Emmett's nephew] Harrison in Dunlap, Ill. It was in the Dunlap Ill., area where he received his education.

He moved with his family to the Spencer area where they farmed. In 1956, he began work for the Spencer Packing Company until 1973 at which time he held several maintenance jobs in the Lakes area. At the age of 80, he moved to Cherokee and lived there for 3 1/2 years.

Survivors include five sons and their wives, Stanley and Diane of Clear Lake, Keith and Barbara of Littleton, Colo., Virgil and Colleen of Cherokee, Gayle and Fran of Ida Grove, and Bruce and Sharon of Aurora, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one step-sister.
