Anna Miranda Cochran, the daughter of August Herman and Mary Sophia Hanson Nelson, was born August 30, 1914 in Logan Township, Clay County, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on a farm near Dickens, where she received her education.

Anna married Marvin Cochran on March 3, 1932 in Spencer, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed for several years in the Dickens area until 1946, when they moved to Spencer. In Spencer, she was the manager of Scott's Variety Store for several years. They moved to Cherokee in the 1960's, where she worked as a waitress. In the early 1970's, they moved back to Spencer, where she also worked as a waitress at Rexall Drug until her retirement. Anna has resided at Northshire Residence and later Longhouse Residence in Spencer since 2002.

Anna passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin on August 11, 1977 and four brothers: Clarence, Donald, Leland and Chuck.

She is survived by two sisters: Inez Gould of Ivanhoe, MN and Elaine Manke of Coon Rapids, MN; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
