CHARLES HOWE DIES AT SPENCER HOSPITAL

Charles Howe, well known Spencer resident, who has visited in Winterset many times, died early Saturday morning, October 7th, at the Spencer hospital, at the age of 88 years. The Howes have one daughter, Mrs. Wm. T. (Dorothy) Good who resides in Winterset and he has been in poor health the past six months.

Mr. Howe was a native of Buena Vista county, and was born in Marathon. However, the family has resided in Spencer since 1900 and he served as a Clay county officer for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife and four children; Harold Howe of Spencer, Mrs. Good of Winterset, Mrs. Helen Neilson of Des Moines and John Howe of Plancia a suburb of Los Angeles, Calif. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Howe were held Tuesday afternoon at the Warner's funeral home, and burial was in the Spencer cemetery. (Riverside cemetery)
