Peter T. Clausen, well known and esteemed resident of Rossie and vicinity for several years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. T. Albers in Rossie, Tuesday morning, February 18, 1930, after an illness of three weeks. His death was caused from cancer of the stomach and occurred at about six o'clock. Mr. Clausen had been in failing health since last summer, but had been confined to his bed for the past three weeks. At the time of his death he was 87 years, 3 months and 6 days of age.

Funeral rites were held yesterday afternoon in the chapel of the Cobb Funeral Home at three o'clock. Burial was made in the Rossie cemetery.

Peter Theodore Clausen, was born November 12, 1842, in Germany. He came to this country in 1869, and settled in Clinton county, Iowa, where he was later united in marriage to Nannie young, February 23, 1874.

To the union of Mr. and Mrs. Clausen seven children, four daughters and three sons, were born.

Mr. and Mrs. Clausen engaged in farming and since Mrs. Clausen's death several years ago, Mr. Clausen had made his home with his daughter.

Surviving Mr. Clausen are two daughters, Mrs. G.T. Albers, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Nellie Gavaldon of Monticello, New Mexico, one son, E.C. Clausen of Sioux City, one brother, August Clausen of Washington state, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Two daughters and two sons preceded their father in death.
