Funeral mass for Mrs. Ed (Leota) Pierce, 65, of Spencer will be held at 10 am, Friday from Sacred Heart Catholic church in Spencer.
Rev. Robert R. Joynt will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery.
Mrs. Pierce died at her home early Tuesday morning, Aug. 6.
Parish rosary will be recited at 8 pm and Catholic Daughters of America rosary at 8:30 pm Thursday at Lightle-Hayes Funeral Home in Spencer
Bearers will be Bert Higgins, Homer Maurer, Leland Thuirer, Herb Janssen, Glen Bensene and Nick Milleman.
Catholic Daughters of America will form an honor guard at the church.
Mrs. Pierce was born Sept. 22, 1902 to Mr. and Mrs. John Elvin at Nevada, Ia. She was married to Edward Pierce at Spencer, Sept 15, 1926.
She came to the Spencer area in 1917 and lived here since that time. She was employed by the Spencer Municipal Utilities from 1924 to 1932 and by Fostoria Cooperative Creamery from 1944 to 1962.
Mrs. Pierce was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church in Spencer, the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of America of which she was a Past Grand Regent.
Survivors include her widower, Ed; a brother, James Elvin of Spencer and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons and a brother.
