Born June 18, 1919, Rossie, Iowa. Passed with his wife of 55 years, Lee, at his side September 27, 2001. Beloved Husband, Father, Uncle, Friend and Neighbor.

Bernie "Mort" was a V.P. with GTE from 1949-81. WWII Vet Us Army Staff Sgt. under General Patton, Battle of the Bulge, French Bronze Star (Croix de Guerre). A member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Assoc. (ITPA) since 1969. Inducted ITPA Hall of Fame, Past President, Santa Monica Bay Club. Santa Monica UCLA Med Center Auxiliary Volunteer 1981-'01. Past Pres. North Venice Little League. Santa Monica Elks Club. Volunteer '84 L.A. Olympics.

Survived by his wife Leora (Lee Bandura) Mortenson; daughter Mary Anne; son Tim (deceased); sister Eileen Williamson; brother Harold Mortenson. He'll be in our hearts forever.

Visitation 4-8 p.m. October 3, Rosary 7 p.m. Gates Kingsley Gates, 1925 Arizona, Santa Monica. Memorial Mass October 4, 10 a.m., St. Monica's Church, Santa Monica, CA.
