Mrs. H. DeWall Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. H. DeWall , who died at her home in this city last Thursday, were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist church.

Rev. C.O. Loken, pastor of the church, and Rev. MR.. Hudson of the U.B. Evangelical church northwest of the city, officiated. Mrs. Roscoe Miller and Mrs. Iona Polle were the singers. Mrs. W. W. Krile was accompanist.

Interment was at North Lawn cemetery under the direction of the Cobb-Warner Funeral home. Casket bearers were grandsons, Charles Pollock, Donald DeWall, Leonard DeWall, Glenn Schoorman, Dean Shatto, and Lowell Shatto.

Born in Illinois

Lena Cathryn Wolpert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Wolpert, was born May 4, 1873. At the time of her death she was one day more than 76 years of age. She had observed the birthday anniversary with her family and friends the day before and seemed in her usual good health. Death followed a stroke suffered the following morning.

She was educated in the Rockwell City schools and was married there on Feb. 212, 1891, to Hie DeWall. They became the parents of four daughters and one son, the latter, Wesley DeWall, dying five years ago in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. DeWall and family lived for a number of years on a farm northwest of Spencer and since retiring have lived in this city. Mrs. DeWal was a member of the United Brethren Evangelical Church and for 15 years taught in the Sunday school. Se was also active in missionary affairs of the church. Since moving to Spencer she has been active in the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. DeWall is survived by her husband, four daughters, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. the daughters are : Mrs. Lillian Pollock of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Bertha Schoorman, Mrs. Ella Becker and Mrs. Laura Shatto, all of and near Spencer. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Westphal of Pocahontas, Mrs. Grover Doss of Rockwell City, and Mrs. I. H. Light of Albert Lea, MN.
