Services for James Edward Hart, well known Liberty township farmer, were held from the Miller Funeral Home Saturday, February 22, with Rev. Jay N. Waterman officiating. Music was furnished by Grace Leeps and Mrs. Chas. Miller. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Hart died at the home of his sister in Osceola February 20. He was 81 years old.

James Edward Hart, son of Samuel and Emeline Miler Hart, was born in Clarke county Dec. 21, 1865 and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Jennie Sweeney on North Main street in Osceola Feb. 20, 1947.

He was the second child of a family of seven. The father passed away March 6, 1879, which left the care of the family principally in the two oldest boys, who were faithful to the charge. They never married. James and Eugene lived together all his life. He was an honest industrious farmer who loved to work.

His mother preceded him in death March 18, 1929, also one brother Warren on Oct. 14, 1938. He will be greatly missed by the family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two brothers Eugene and Jake and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ramsey, Mrs. Jennie Sweeney and Mrs. Della Proudfoot, two sister-in-law Mrs. Minnie Hart and Mrs. Sylvia Hart, and three brothers-in-law, four nephews and three nieces.
