Henry Twyford of Liberty township, dropped dead Tuesday afternoon, from heart disease. He had been slightly ailing for a while, but his death was altogether unexpected. The funeral was held at the church Wednesday, at ten o'clock in the presence of a large crowd of sympathizing friends. Mr Twyford was a pioneer of this county and one of Liberty township's most respected citizens. His death will cause a pall of sorrow among his many friends and acquaintances.

His children include: Mrs. Amanda McQuern, Mrs. Bitha Hoagland, Mrs. Florence Brim, Mrs. Estella Liggitt, Mrs. Lillie Love and Mrs. Lula Proudfoot.

Mr. Henry Twyford has a farm of 392 acres, ten miles northeast of Osceola, in Liberty township. He came to Clarke county in 1865. All of his farm is enclosed, 280 acres in cultivation, with 235 acres in grass. The soil is dark loam, producing well corn, oats, and hay. The Wad Is rolling. Mr. Twyford keeps from 7 to 9 head common horses, 90 head of graded Short-Horn cattle, and usually averages about 90 head of Poland-China hogs. There are also good buildings, orchards, etc., on his well watered farm.
