Fannie Umbarger was born in Pennsylvania January 7, 1844, and died at Murray, Iowa February 14, 1916, at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 7 days. Her parents moved from her native state to Illinois when she was six weeks old where she resided until 1865 when she moved to Missouri.

She married Seymour Case January 1, 1866. To this union were born two children one of whom preceded her to the spirit world.

She was united in marriage to Hezikiah H. Turner November 15, 1873 near Princeton, Illinois. This union was blessed with twelve children, eight of whom survive and were present at the time of death.

In 1888 she moved from Missouri to Grand River, Iowa, where the family resided until they moved to Clarke county near Osceola in 1893. After a residence of twelve years in that vicinity they moved to Nebraska where they remained two years. They then returned to Clarke county for a time but again returned to Nebraska where they resided until three years ago when they returned to Iowa and located at Murray.

She is survived by her husband; nine children, John W. Case of Omaha, Ada Jones of Murray, Ida Jones of Osceola, Eva Blackburn of New Virginia, Asa of Murray, Emma Jones of Afton, Earl of Murray’ one sister, Mrs. Burr Forbes, who resides in Arispe, twenty-seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

These together with a host of friends and acquaintances will miss the mother’s love and smile.

Her one great desire was that she might remain conscious in her last hour until she could have a talk with all her children, which was granted her.

She was a member of the Baptist church when a girl but never affiliated with any church in this state.

The funeral services were conducted at the Christian church at Osceola by Rev. Killion Wednesday, February 16th at 10 o’clock and the remains were laid to rest in Maple Hill cemetery.
