Curtis (Curt) Dale Gracey, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 21, 2022. Curt was born on September 14, 1947 to Dale and Bessie Gracey in Osceola, IA. He graduated from Clarke Community High School, Southwestern Community College, and attended the University of Iowa. Curt married Sandy Hagen 49 years ago and they had two sons together. He worked for the Department of Transportation, retiring from the Motor Vehicle Division after 40 years. He loved nature photography and spent many happy hours patiently waiting for the next perfect shot. In his earlier years Curt enjoyed the Des Moines Camera Club. He also loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR races.

Left to cherish Curt's memory are his wife Sandy; son Ryan (Megan); sister Stephanie (Larry) Butts; brother Herman (Sandy) Gracey; sister-in-law Connie Hagen; and many much loved nieces, nephews and friends. Curt is preceded in death by his parents; son Camron in 2001; sister Sherry Ryan; father and mother-in-law Shelby and Gretchen Hagen; brothers-in-law Jerry Ryan, Jim Hagen and Jerry Hagen; nephew and niece John Hagen and Christina Hagen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 27th from 1:00-3:00pm at O'Leary Funeral Home. There will be a short message and time for sharing to start at 2:30pm. Curtis will be laid to rest at Norwalk Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the Norwalk First Responders Team and Unity Point Hospice for their compassionate service and care. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Norwalk Fire Department at 1100 Chatham Ave, Norwalk, IA 50211 or to the charity of your choice.
