Rites Monday For
Della Mae Davis

Long-Time County Resident
Died Here Last Friday

Mrs. Floyd Davis, for 45 years a resident of Clarke county, died Friday, Jan. 28 in the Clarke county public hospital after a long illness. She was 65 years old.

Rev. Azel Smith and Rev. Warren Hile officiated at funeral services held for her at the Webster funeral home on Monday, Jan. 31 at 2:00 p. m. Burial was in Bethel Chapel cemetery.

Emil Rinderspacher, soloist, sang "It is No Secret" and "Whiter Than Snow," accompanied by organist Amy Ruth Harlan.

Pallbearers were King Hukill, Roy Hukill, Allie McLaughlin, Garl McLaughlin, Harold Brim and Dean Hedrick.

Della Mae, daughter of Daniel S. and Elizabeth Stacy Poush, was born in Warren county. She was married to Floyd Davis Feb. 2, 1910 at Woodburn, Iowa. She joined the Christian Union church at the age of 16 and retained her membership there throughout her life.

Mrs. Davis lived an exemplary Christian life. She was a devoted and self sacrificing wife and mother. Her husband; two daughters, Mrs. L. T. Kearney of Woodburn and Mrs. Warren J. Ries of Anamosa; a son, Arden; ten grandchildren and other more distant relatives in addition to many friends mourn her death.
