Presly Trumbo
Presly Trumbo was born in Allen county, Indiana, Dec. 10, 1844, and died at his home in Jamison, Iowa, Jan. 27, 1909, aged 64 years, 1 month, 17 days.

He entered the service of his country in 1865; was a private of Co. K, 46 Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and served till the close of the war. He was the son of John and Sophia Trumbo who had both preceded him in death; he was the eldest of a family of ten children-four sisters and six brothers-one sister and one brother dying in infancy, and one sister, Mrs. Hannah J. Kerr, died Jan. 6, 1893. The surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. Kate Leonard, of Jamison; Mrs. Ellen Perkins of Rock Port, Mo.; Mathias Trumbo, of New Virginia; William, of Jamison; Perry, of Liberty; and J. M., of Osceola.

He was a member of Neophyte Lodge No. 301, A. L. and A. M., and Neophyte Lodge No. 206, O.E.S., of New Virginia and of Pentalpha Chapter, No. 63 R.A.M. and Constantine Commandery No. 23 of Osceola.

He was an honest and upright man and leaves a host of friends to mourn his death. Funeral services were conducted from the Jamison church by Rev. D.H. Howery and interment made in the Jamison cemetery.
