Former Resident
Dies in Wis.

Alice Margaret Macy, 90, a former resident of Osceola who last lived in Durand, Wisconsin, died at the Chippewas Valley Nursing Home in Durand Friday, March 7, 1986. Services were held from St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Osceola Monday, March 10 with Father James Freeman officiating at the 10:30 a. m. rites. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Woodburn.

Alice Margaret Macy was born March 2, 1896 in Decatur County, Iowa, daughter of George Conwell and Mary Ellen Moran Conwell. She attended schools in Decatur County and in June 1918 was married to Fay Macy in Leon. Four children were born to this union.

The last ten months of her life were spent in Durand, Wisconsin and prior to that she resided in a nursing home in Rochester, Minnesota. She lived for 41 years in Osceola from 1929 to 1970. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son Joe Macy of Woodburn, son Mike Macy and wife Patricia of Omaha, Nebraska, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fay in 1970, two children in infancy, one grandchild, two brothers and two sisters.
