A Worthy Woodburn Citizen Goes
to His Long Home.

T. E. Johnson died Thursday, after an illness of a few minutes, aged eighty-six years, two months and ten days. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Friday. Rev. Stark delivering the sermon in the presence of a large crowd of Sympathizing friends.

Biographical.

Mr. Johnson was born in North Carolina in 1814, where he lived until he was twenty-one years of age, when he moved to Virginia. He afterwards moved to Indiana, then to Keokuk county, in this state, thence to Jefferson county. In '61 he moved to Jackson township in this county and lived here until his death. His wife died at Ottawa in 1872. In 1875 he married Sarah Hall in Keokuk county. Six children D. D., W. H., T. S., and Mrs. John Bruffey, of this county and D. B. in Missouri and Mrs. Moats of Kansas...and the bereaved widow survive him. Mr. Johnson followed farming, also carpentering, in early life but later was engaged in business in Woodburn. He was a member of the M. E. church many years. He was an upright Christian, a noble true hearted citizen, an indulgent and loving father and husband, and carried to his resting place the highest esteem and respect of all.
