Bessie Norine, the infant daughter of Henry and Cora Garris died on Saturday night, February 24th, at the residence of her parents one-half mile west of this place. It was suffering from a cold, but was not thought to be dangerous, so they took it to bed about ten o'clock. The baby seemed to rest well and the parents went to sleep. On awakening about midnight they were startled when they realized that grim monster death had taken their little darling from them. It is a sad blow on the young parents, but we trust that they may lean on the strong arm of Him who cares for the lambs of the flock. The funeral service was held at the M. E. church on Monday at 2 P.M. attended by a number of relatives and friends who sympathize with them in this dark hour of bereavement, after which it's little body was laid away in the Woodburn cemetery to await the resurrection mourn. May the parents and little sister look forward to the time when they shall meet the babe on the evergreen shore. The funeral was conducted by J. Y. Hosier, pastor of the M. E. church.
