Alice LaVerne Ransom, daughter of Murry Davis and Emma Viola Wallis Davis, was born October 11, 1912 in Warren County, Iowa. She passed from this life on October 18, 2000 in Osceola, Iowa at the age of 88 years.

Alice grew up in Warren County and attended Warren County Schools. She had lived in Clio and the past 25 years she lived in Clarke County. She married Wilbur "Wes" Frank Ransom on January 20, 1932 in Bethany, Missouri and two children blessed this union, Virginia and Delores.

Alice was a homemaker and housewife. She worked as a housekeeper for the Garner Hotel in Osceola and various private individuals. She attended Jerico Hills Church in Lucas, Iowa

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Wes in 1986; brothers, Albert Davis and Charles Davis; grand daughter, LoRae McCuddin and great grandson, Dustin McCuddin; brothers-in-law, Henry Ruble, Delbert, Roy, Jack, Nelson and Lyle Ransom; sisters-in-law; Anna and Mable Ransom

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Virginia Williams of Woodburn and Delores Hommer and husband Lynn of Indianola, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, David McCuddin & wife Heidi of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Alice Deborah Lohman of Des Moines, Melody Hills of New Virginia, Iowa, Brenda Core & husband Ken of Indianola, Iowa, Brian Hommer & wife Sue of Indianola, Iowa, Brent Hommer & wife Debbie of Des Moines, Iowa; 16 great grandchildren, Mollie & Katie McCuddin of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Christine Gwinn of Avon, Iowa, Jeannie Hills of New Virginia, Iowa, Aaron Hills, Jenifer Hills, Cari Benshoof, Sarah Hommer, Karen Hommer and Jacob Hommer all of Des Moines, Iowa, Dawn Geisler, Justin Geisler & wife Sara, Kendra Core, Brandi Hommer, Kristin Hommer, and Ashley Hommer all of Indianola, Iowa; 4 great-great grandchildren, Brittany Geisler, Makayla Geisler, and Zachary Geisler all of Indianola, Iowa, Samuel Gwinn of Avon, Iowa; sister Mabel Ruble of Lucas, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Maxine Ransom of Woodburn, Iowa, Ruth Davis of Corydon, Iowa, Marguerite Davis of Chariton, Iowa as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
