Sarah Ann Scott, daughter of John Alexander and Mary Gilland Scott, was born in Madison, Wisconsin, March 8, 1849.

She was married to John W. Hall at Pacific City, Iowa, now known as Pacific Junction, on March 14, 1869.
To this union were born the following children: Edgar C. of Sabetha, Kansas; Frank D. of Osceola; Hallie Tarlton of Osceola; Nina Fisher of Des Moines, Ethel Tillotson of Osceola’ Jessie who died at the age of seven.

Mrs. Hall united with the Methodist Protestant church in 1898. She was a member of the W.R.C., Rebekah lodge and was very active in their work until failing health became her lot.

After a lingering illness death came to her on February 2, at the ripe age of 83 years, 11 months and 15 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure besides her children, six sisters, Miriam Archer of Lincoln, Nebr.; Mahala Parmley of Janesville, Wis.” Caroline Case of Denver; Almira Parmley of Darsman, Wis.; Margaret Roserans of Hawthorn, Calif. Two brothers; John Byron of Weldon and Francis Sylvester of Harrison, Iowa. Eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the Webster Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23, by Rev. F.C. McCallon, interment in Maple Hill cemetery.
