Hallie Mae Tarlton, daughter of John W. Hall and Sarah Scott Hall, was born in Osceola, Clarke county, Iowa, December 24, 1873, and departed this life at the home of Mrs. Lydia Main in Osceola, October 8, 1956, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 14 days.

She was united in marriage to Charles Tarlton and to this union one son, Jack, was born. She spent most of her life in Osceola, where she made many friends. She was a wonderful mother and neighbor. She always worked hard and was happy when she could do something for those in need to lighten their burden She was affiliated with the Trinity Methodist church, formerly the Methodist Protestant church of Osceola.

Halite had made her home with Mrs. Lydia Main the past four years and had received the best of care and will be greatly missed by the Main family. She was a member of one of the pioneer families of Clarke county and her father was contractor on several of the older buildings in Osceola. When she was able and before being confined to the| home she enjoyed very much going to church services.

Those left to mourn their loss are: a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Beck, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of Des Moines, two sisters, Mrs. Nina Foster and Mrs. Ethel Tillotson of Osceola; a brother, Ed Hall of Kansas; also nieces, ncphews, other relatives and friends.

Those preceding her in death were her father and mother, her husband Charles Tarlton, her son Jack, and a brother, Frank Hall.

Funeral services were held at the Webster Funeral home, Wednesday, October 10 at 2:00 p. m., with the Rev. J N Waterman officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wid Tillotson, Harry Lingle, George Carlton, Edwin Ruebottom, Fred Luther and Frank Paul. Soloist, Miss Ferna Rider, and organist, Mrs. Amy Ruth Harlan. Songs were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden."
