Died Here Monday

Services Wednesday For
Life-Time County Resident

Death came Monday, Jan. 24, to Carrol Barnard, lifetime resident of Clarke county. He died at his home on South Main St. in Osceola at the age of 66.

Funeral services for him will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 26 from Webster Funeral Home, with burial at Jamison cemetery. Mr. Chas. Ruden of Des Moines will officiate.

Richard Carrol Barnard was born in Clarke county on February 19, 1888 to Thomas E. and Martha Foster Barnard. He was educated in the Clarke county schools and during his active life was a farmer.

Surviving him are his sister, Miss Lela Barnard with whom he lived, two brothers, Garret of Des Moines and Paul of Ames and their wives; another sister-in-law, Mrs. Ross Barnard of Los Angeles, Calif., 5 nieces, 3 nephews and other relatives. His parents, a brother Ross and two sisters preceded him in death.
