Mrs. Anna McFarland Bond died at the home of her son, W. H. Bond, at 9:15 P. M. Wednesday, February 21st. She had sustained a painful illness since November, with Christian fortitude.

Mrs. Bond was born in Mansfield, Ohio, August 25, 1832, and with her parents came to Illinois when about nine years old. In 1852 she was married to John Bond. Five children were born to them, two sons and three daughters. Only one, W. H. Bond survive. Her husband died fifteen years ago and she has since lived with her son. She was one of the kindliest and most esteemed women in whatever place she lived, and a host of friends are mourners with the bereaved ones.

Her funeral occurred at 11 A. M. Friday, at the M. E. church, Rev. Wright officiating. She was a member of the M. E. church from her eighteenth year, and lived up to her profession. She was a member of the Eastern Star in former days here, also.

Her remains were laid to rest by her husband's in the Osceola cemetery and her memory is a fragrant one.

With her family she came to this country in 1878, and had lived in or near Osceola from that time till her death.
