Olive Alice Wilkinson was born in Marshal county, Ill., October 2. 1860. She died at her home in Liberty January 4, 1901, aged forty-three years, three months and two days. She came with her parents to Grundy county, Iowa about the year 1866 and from there moved to Clarke county. Iowa near Liberty in1872 where she has since lived.

She was married to James Trumbo September 20, 1883. To this union were born three children, Luther, Ethel and James. The death angel came for little Luther on February 20, 1888 and on the fifth day of the following April the husband was called away. Since this time Mrs. Trumbo with her two children continued to live with her widowed mother to whom she was an unfailing source of help and comfort.

What her life had been in the community none fully realized until she was stricken with consumption, more than a year ago. Since then how many times has her absence been felt in the churches and homes of tbe community. Hers was a rare example of the true Christian's life. She was converted and joined the M. E. church at Liberty when about eleven years of age where she has always remained a faithful and consistent member. In all branches of church and Sunday school work she took a leading part being still a member of the board of trustees at her death. For years she taught the infant class in the Sunday school, doubtless adding many stars to her crown by her untiring and successful work with children.

From the time of the organization of the Epworth League she was given the place of devotional leader, because of her unusual fitness in that line, until her weakened hands were compelled to lay down their tasks and though she has gone from us we know that her example and precepts will continue to live and bear fruit.

But of all the interests which she leaves behind the one ever uppermost in her thought was that of her children, Ethel and James, to whom she strived to be both father and mother after the death of her husband.

All through her long illness and extreme suffering she was an example of cheerfulness and Christian fortitude. The entire community join with the bereaved children, mother and two brothers in mourning her loss. The triumphant dying testimony which she left to the world was a quotation from the words of the Savior. "I now ascend unto my Father and your Father and to my God and your God."

A large congregation assembled at the Methodist church on Wednesday to pay a last tribute of respect to the departed, after which, the remains were taken to the family burying place at Bethel Chapel for Interment.
