Miss Anna Schochling Dead.

Miss Ann Schochling, well known member of one of Clarke county's earliest pioneer families, died at the Osceola Sanitarium Monday after an illness of but a few days following an attack of influenza. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of her death. Miss Schochling was born in this county and has resided here all her life. She has been universally loved and respected by all who knew her.

Her father, Sebastian Schochling, was born in France and came to this country while but a boy. In 1857 he came to this county where his brother-in-law, John McDonough, had already settled. They lived in Jackson township. Another brother-in-law of Mr. McDonough's, Patrick Casey, came to the county the same year, the three families being among the early settlers in the county. Miss Schochling moved to Osceola about thirty years ago.

Brief funeral services were conducted by Father Daly at the home yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock and interment was made at Maple Hill cemetery.
