Funeral services were conducted in Anacortes Wash., Dec. 19 for Mrs. Esther Rilea who died at her home there Dec. 17.

Esther Jane, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Pennoch, was born July 3, 1872, near Hopeville, and died at her home in Anacortes, Wash., December 17, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 14 days.

She was married to J. Willis Rilea of Grand River, April 19, 1899. To this union eight children were born, three preceding her in death. Surviving are five children: Mrs. Alice Thompson of Anacortes, Mrs. Ione Walker of Creston, and triplets, Mrs. Dick Welk, Roy Rilea and Rena Rilea, of Anacortes, who were present at the funeral services.
Surviving her also are three grandchildren: Mrs. Gwendolyn Siegmann of Creston, and Leland and Richard Rilea of Anacortes, and one great-grandson; also a brother Warren Pennock of Newton, who attended the rites, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Thurlow, of Osceola.

Mrs. Rilea accepted Christ as her personal Savior when but a child, and became a faithful member of the United Brethren church, but in later years she became affiliated with the Assembly of God church. The work of the Lord as a wife of a minister was always her first love. She was the embodiment of all that is best in wife, mother and friend.

She lived all of her life in Iowa and Nebraska, with the exception of the past 11 years when she spent in Anacortes.
