June 25, 1896 . page 8Malinda Gilfillan, wife of Alexander F. Gilfillan, was born in Ross county, Ohio, August 7, 1825. Her parents were Joshua and Elizabeth Thrasher.
She was married October 25, 1846 to Mr. Gilfillan. They removed to Warren county, Iowa in 1869, and to Clarke county in 1874 where they have since resided. She became a member of the church when about fifteen years old, and has been connected with the U.B. church most of the time for about fifty years.
She died Wednesday morning, June 17, 1896, aged seventy years, ten months and ten days. She leaves her aged husband, two daughters and ten grandchildren to mourn her loss.
