Dorothy Marie Woods, daughter of Charlie E. Mason and Margaret C. Sloan, was born August 23, 1929 in Clarke County near Jay, and passed from this life Nov. 7, 2015.She graduated from Woodburn High School and married Ernest K. Woods. They became the parents of four children.

They farmed and in later years moved to Woodburn. She then moved to Osceola when her husband passed away.

She enjoyed working in the church over the years and attended regularly until her health failed her.

Her special joy in life was her family, always saying she was "of all mothers, most blessed."

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy, saying she loved each one of them the best. They loved spending time with her and helping her out.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, daughter Janet Marie Garton, son-in-law Wayne Garton, sisters: Lillie Mills, Lucille Goodale, Audrey Winn and Gladys Gray; brothers Delos, Laverne, Joseph Oren, Verle, Ivyl and Danny.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, John and Janet Woods of Osceola, Jerry and Sue Woods of Ankeny, and James and Nancy Woods of Osceola; nine grandchildren: Jason (Mindy) Woods of Hopkins, Minnesota; Jodi Woods and friend Kory Dean of Pleasant Hill; Mark (Dawn) Woods of Osceola; Jennifer (Bob) Post of Rushville, Mo.; Thane Garton, Osceola; Sara (Kevin) Cline of Urbandale; Angie (Ron) Crees of Bondurant; Olivia (Chris) Hein of Brookfield, IL; and Lance (Hira Anees) McCain of Fulton, Maryland; sixteen great-grandchildren: Catherine, Anna and Lilly Woods of Mn; T.J. and Kobe Woods, Osceola; Jacob (Amberly) Newell of Ankeny; Kati and Kendra Newell of Pleasant Hill; Emily and Allison Post, Rushville, Mo.; Kieran Cline, Ankeny; Gavin and Max Crees, Bondurant; Amaan McCain, Fulton, Md.; Atticus and Elliot Hein, Brookfield, Il; sister, Cleta (Dwaine) Spencer of Lucas, sisters-in-law Dorothy Mason and Juanita Woods; and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to her family for a tribute to be decided at a later time.
