Elzie, son of Henry and Alice Woods, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, on February 2, 1885, and died March 2 in Osceola, aged 48 years, one month.

When a small boy he moved to this county with his parents and has resided here practically all his life. He was married to Miss Pearl Harrison on April 7, 1906. To this union was born ten children, six girls and four boys, They are Mrs. Paul Taylor of New Virginia, Cleo, Corda, Flossie, Roberta and Gladys, all of Osceola, and Luther, Frank and Everett, also of Osceola. One son, Jesse died two years ago. Aside from immediate members of the family he is survived by three brothers, John of New Virginia and Bert and Charles of Osceola, also two grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted, by Rev. F. C. McCallon from Bethel church, Sunday, March 5. Interment in Bethel cemetery.
