Mrs. Gretta Woods

Gretta Lucille Woods, daughter of Sanford and Pearle Leeps, was born at Osceola, Iowa, on April 26, 1904, and departed this life at the Clarke County Hospital, Feb. 19, 1962 at the age of 57 years, nine months and 15 days.

On March 25, 1928, she was united in marriage to Wayne Woods. To this union was born one son, Stanley. On July 3, 1952, this home was saddened by the loss of this husband and father.

On Oct. 3, 1956, Gretta was united in marriage to Harley Woods of Woodburn, Ia., where they resided on a farm.

Several years ago, in 1913, she professed her faith in Christ and united with the Christian Church in Osceola, and later transferred her membership to Woodburn. She was a faithful member and lived in keeping with her profession.

Gretta received her education in the Clarke County public schools and has been a lifelong resident of Clarke County.

About four months ago she was afflicted with an illness which was borne with patience and endurance.

Gretta will be missed by all for she was always ready and willing to help in time of need. She was very devoted to her home and family.

Besides her husband Harley and son Stanley, she leaves to cherish her memory her father and mother, of Osceola; one sister, Grace, of Osceola; one brother, Bernard, of Orient; a daughter-in-law, Loretta; two granddaughters, Lisa and Laura; a grandson, Steven; also several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at the Webster Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Kalouner of Des Moines, pastor of the Woodburn Christian Church officiating. Music was by Amy Ruth Harlan and Gary Pierce. Pallbearers were Bernard Linder, Mickey Jones, Mickey Thomas, Kenneth Leeps, Gentry Leeps, and Howard Ruble. Interment was in the Woodburn Cemetery.
