MARY DARLENE WRIGHT

Mary Darlene Wright, daughter of Gerald and Velma Kane Johnson, was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Hopeville and died Jan. 1, 1994, at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. She was 66.

She received her education in Hopeville and Murray Schools and graduated from Murray High School.

She married Kenneth Eugene Wright on July 31, 1947 in Leon and they became the parents of two children.

She was a lifetime resident of Clarke County and was a clerk at Osceola Farm and Home store where she retired in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her father; son, Alan Wright; and a sister, Phyllis Marie.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband; son, Rick Wright and his wife Cindy of Woodburn; grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob and Jordan Wright; mother Velma Johnson of Murray; three brothers, Duane Johnson and wife Alice of Murray; Gene Johnson and wife Veda of Indianola; Donald Johnson and wife Betty of San Antonio, Texas; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Wright were held at the Woodburn Cemetery on Jan. 4, with Pastor Densmore Peterson of Des Moines officiating.

Casket bearers were Orville Turner, Greg Flaherty, Larry Coffman, Don Hitt, David Flaherty and Charles Livesay. Arrangements were by Kale Funeral Home of Osceola.
