Hugh Kelso received a message Sunday announcing the death of his son, Robert, in a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where he had gone for treatment for an internal cancer.

The deceased spent a portion of the past year with his father and brother, W. C. Kelso, at their home in Osceola township. Robert was well known in Clarke county having resided here before going to Missouri some twenty years ago. About five years ago his wife and little daughter died of the flu. He is survived by a son.

Funeral services were held at Shelbina, Missouri, Monday. On account of the serious illness of Russell, the sixteen year old son of W.C. Kelso, none of the members of the family here attended the funeral. Following an operation for appendicitis at the Osceola Sanitarium Sunday, Russell is reported much better. It is expected that he may be able to be taken home within a few days.
