F r a n k Zika was born August 24, 1849, in Bohemia, Europe, coming to this country with his parents when four years of age, locating at that time in Iowa City, Iowa, later moving to Decatur county.

He was married to Sussannah Goodman May 30, 1871, and to this union was born four children, Mrs. Annie Davis, Leon, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Smith, Osceola; Mr. Leo zika, Ottumwa, and Mr. Edward Zika, Weldon, and leaves on brother, Adam Zika, St. Joe Missouri.
These with ten grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends are left to moun his departure.

Mr. Zika when a young man united with the Catholic church, and five years ago again confessed Christ as his Savior. With the exception of seven years spent in South Dakota and two years in the west, he has lived in Iowa, most of which time was spent on the old home place in Green Bay township.

Since the death of his wife which occurred January 16, 1920, he has made his home with his son, Edward, until about a year ago when he went to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Davis near Leon, where he passed away March 3, 1925, aged 75 years. Funeral services were held at the church at Leslie, Iowa, Thursday and interment made at Green Bay cemetery beside his wife.
