Lucille Turk Rites Tuesday

Lucille Turk, 66, of Shannon City, Iowa, died Sunday, December 7, at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. Services were held Tuesday, December 9, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ivan C. Bys officiating.

Lucille Turk was born Feb 25, 1909, in Clarke County, Iowa, daughter of L. D. Hart and Ethel Holbrook Hart. She attended schools in Clarke County and on August 25, 1929 was married to Clarence Turk. Three children were born to this union. She spent her early years in Clarke County before moving to Nebraska. Her last four years were spent in Union County.

She was affiliated with the Methodist Church at Grand Island, Nebraska and was a member of O.E.S. Ridgeway Chapter No. 9 and "Help-Each-Other Club" in Arispe.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence of Shannon City; daughter, Janice Mathews and husband, John of Newtown, Missouri; son, Roger Turk, and wife, Margaret of Creston; three sisters, Berdice Barnes of Osceola; Bessie Gracey of Osceola, and Mildred Pierce of Atlanta, Georgia; brother Charles Hart of Osceola, and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Gene.

Internment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.
