Sarah Throckmorton was born July 12, 1852, at Blackhawk, Davis county, Iowa. Was moved by her parents to Hopeville in 1855. United with the Methodist church when a young girl. Was married May 28,1870, to William Huff. To them were born three sons and two daughters. Her husband and one son were waiting for her beyond the river of death, which she crossed at 9:00 o'clock on the evening of May 2.
Several years ago, she with her husband, united with the Christian church at Hopeville, where she was taken by her sorrowing relatives and friends last Sunday afternoon, and after services conducted by Rev. Bott of Murray, was laid to rest beside her husband.
