Died, March 30th, at his home hear Prairie Grove, Iowa, after an illness of some nine months, of quick consumption and disease of the stomach, Elijah J. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Davis, aged twenty-four years, ten months and a few days.

He was married to Miss Bertha Secrease November 22, 1889, and to them a son was born in October 1890, which with its mother is left to mourn his loss. He starter in life with a bright prospect before him for the future, until he was taken sick in July 1890, and has been a continual sufferer ever since with that dreaded disease which proved fatal at last and death claimed him as its victim. He was a young man of good reputation and was highly respected. He leaves a large circle of friends, both old and young, to mourn his departure.

The funeral services were held at his home, conducted by Rev. H. M. Mullen, after which his remains were laid to rest in the Prairie Grove cemetery. We extend our heart felt sympathy to the bereaved, as this is the fourth child death has taken away in the last two years from this family.
