Word was received here this week of the death at Pattensburg, Missouri, of Mrs. Ury Read, wife of E. S. Read. Her death occurred about May 1st. She was a daughter of J. F. Field, and early pioneer of this county, who settled near old Prairie Grove in May 1851. Mrs. Read was an exceptional woman, never having an enemy to the knowledge of the writer, who has known her since infancy. She was the enbodiment of kindness and devotion to all who came in contact with her. Mrs. Read was about sixty years of age. Her remains were interred in the cemetery at Coffeysburg, Missouri.

Note: Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, Daviess County, Missouri.
