Eli Duncan.

Eli Duncan was born in Ohio August 8, 1837, and died at his home in Osceola, Iowa, Wednesday, January 12, 1910, at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 4 days. He enlisted in the civil war in 1861 and served three years. In 1865 he came to Clarke county, where he was united in marriage to Miss Jemima Mason. To them were born four children, three of whom survive, Thomas of Chicago, Emma and Will of this city.

On Friday afternoon at 2:30 the funeral services were held at his late residence, conducted by Rev. Carpenter of the M. E. church in the presence of neighbors and friends among he had lived so many years. The G. A. R. post attended in a body. Interment was made in Maple Hill cemetery by the side of his wife, who passed away a few years ago.
