John O'Brien died at his home in Osceola April 13, 1901 aged sixty years, nine months and twenty two days. Interment took place at the Catholic cemetery in Woodburn April 15th. Mr. O'Brien was born in Cork, Ireland June 24, 1840; came to this country in 1861. In 1864 he was married to Mary Ellen Brandbrook. To this union were born two children - James Michael and William Penn. The deceased has lived in Osceola twenty five years, during all of which time he was a faithful employee of the C. B. & Q railway. He was a member of the Woodmen order. Mr. O'Brien was a quiet, orderly citizen and a loyal supporter of the flag of his adopted country.
