Francis Davis
Dies At Age 86

Rites In Osceola Saturday
For Well Known County Man

Francis M. Davis, 86-year-old retired farmer and native resident of the Leslie community in Clarke county, died last Thursday at a nursing home in Osceola.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Webster Funeral home with Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Osceola Christian church, officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery here.

The son of John and Mary Perry Davis, he was born Nov. 9, 1872 at Leslie. He was educated in the Clarke county schools and had devoted his adult life to farming.

On March 25, 1894, at Garden Grove he was united in marriage with Anna Zika, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage with Florence Pease on Jan. 17, 1947, at Osceola.

Surviving are his widow, three sons, George of St. Joseph, Mo., Okley of Des Moines, and Alva of Bedford; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anna.
