Henry Calfee is lying very low from the effects of the cancer in his face. The aged gentleman suffers much, and his friends can only sympathize, but not cure him.

Henry Calfee, one of Osceola's most respected citizens died at his home Wednesday morning at 1:30 o'clock from cancer, aged eighty four years, eight months and eighteen days. Mr. Calfee was born in Virginia, October 19, 1812. He afterward moved to Wabash county, Indiana, where he was an honored citizen for over forty years. He married and brought up his family of seven children there. His wife died some time before his moving to Clarke county in 1881. Mr. Calfee has lived in Osceola for fifteen years, during which time he became universally respected by all who knew him. He had been a member of the Christian church for sixty years and always lived up to the standard of a sincere Christian. Three of the children live in this county, named Messrs. C. H. and Will Calfee and a daughter, Miss Libbie Calfee. The remains were taken to Wabash county for interment Wednesday evening, his two sons accompanying them.
