DEATH OF CHARLES C. HOLDEN

Charles C. Holden, father of Mr. F. E. Holden of this city, died Sunday, March 11, after a long illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. Teller of Washington township. Mr. Holden was born at Glennville, New York, July 26, 1882. He came to Illinois about 41 years ago and from there to Iowa. He had been a resident of Clarke county for 30 years. He was the father of 12 children, six of whom are living. Two daughters and two sons reside in this county. Mr. Holden united with the Methodist church in Washington township in 1881 and retained his membership in the same church until his death. He was also a member of the U. V. U. organization of Osceola, and six of his comrades acted as pall bearers at his burial. Funeral services were held at the church in Washington Tuesday, March 13, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. B. Buckner. Interment was in Maple Hill cemetery.
