George Davis.

George Davis was born in Delaware county, Ohio on July 2, 1844, and died at Osceola, Iowa, October 22, 1921, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 20 days. He enlisted as a private at the age of 18 years in Co. C, 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 20, 1862, serving nearly three years in defense of his country being mustered out at Washington, D.C. on June 8, 1865. He came to Iowa shortly after leaving the army and took up farming which occupation he followed many years.

On June 20, 1896, he was married to Hannah Nelson who with their son, Walter, age 13 years, survive him. Mr. Davis was a good citizen, most jovial disposition, a good neighbor, husband and father. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. Funeral services were held at Webster's Undertaking Parlors Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. W. H. W. Webster. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery.
