Services For Former Clarke Co.
Man Held In Osceola Tuesday

Wayne R. Black, former Clarke county resident died at Warner Robins, Ga., Saturday, following a heart attack. He was 48 years old.

The body was returned to Osceola where services were held at the Webster Funeral home this (Tuesday) afternoon with the Rev. Charles Fletcher, pastor of the Chariton Episcopalian church officiating. Burial was at Woodburn.

Wayne was born at Woodburn on February 10, 1908, a son of Earl H. and Mamie Lowe Black. He received his education in the schools of Clarke county and made his home here until 14 years ago. Most of his time has been spent in Georgia since then.

He was married to Gladys Bowery on January 2, 1941 while she was serving as Clarke county nurse.

He was a member of the Lions club at Warner Robins, finance officer of the American Legion and treasurer of All Saints Episcopalian church.

Survivors include his widow, one sister, Mrs. Corda Crist of Shabbona, Ill.; brother, M. J. Black of Evansville, Ind.; sister-in-law, Gladys Black; brother-in-law, Paul Crist; nephew, James Black and two nieces, Susan Black and Evelyn Crist.
