The funeral services of Mr. Douglas Marquis was held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Bethel Chapel. Mr. Marquis passed away Wednesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Gardner after a brief Illness. Rev. Gordon of Indianola, conducted the services, the singers being Messrs. Lue Terhune, Elmer Clark, Gilbert Keeney and Edd Slaley. Those from a distance who were present were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marquis of Osceola, Mrs. John Blake and son Milam of Osceola. Mr. Joe Manley of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. N . C. Marquis and son Boyd of Lorimor, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Geter of Thayer, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Manley and Mrs. Emmer Manley of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Barnes and two daughters of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barnes of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs Clyde Johnson and two sons of Lorimor, and Mr. John H. Oneall of Bassett, Nebr. This community extends their deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones.
