Marie Louise Vawn, 75, died at the Iowa Methodist Medial Center in Des Moines, Friday, September 10. Services will be held from the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola on Tuesday, September 14, with members of Ophir Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, officiating at the 11 a.m. rites. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Marie Louise Vawn was born July 1, 1907, in Osceola, Iowa, daughter of Warren Monroe Hart and Minnie McNichols Hart. She attended schools in Osceola, graduating in 1925 and then attending Osceola Junior College and business college in Des Moines.

She was married to Walter Vawn on July 1, 1933, in Bethany, Missouri. One son was born to this union.

She was a member of the Clarke County Historical Society, Democratic Women’s Club, Ophir Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star (50 year member) and held office since 1954 and secretary for the past 18 years and a member of the Past Matron’s Club.
Survivors include her husband, Walter of Osceola and son, James of Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Glenn Hart and two half sisters.
