Mrs. Rachel C. Long died at her home in Fremont township, Saturday, November 23rd, at 9 A.M., aged thirty-two years, three months and eleven days.

Deceased was born in Henry county, Iowa, August 8, 1863, and moved to Clarke county in August 1888. Her maiden name was Rachel Winters. She was married to Mr. F. A. Long in 1881, and to them have been born 5 children, four boys and one girl, all of whom with her husband mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. She was a consistent member of the Christian church and was an active, devoted worker, and also an active Sunday school worker.
Funeral services were held at their residence, Sunday at 11 A.M., at which a large number of sympathizing friends were present. The remains were put on the Sunday evening train to be taken to Mt. Pleasant to be buried beside her father and mother at Hickory Grove.
