Funeral services for John Young, 73, long time resident of Clarke county, were held Friday afternoon from the Reinhart Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev F.C. McCallon.

Mr. Young was the son of Emsy and David Young. He was born April 17, 1861, in Des Moines county, Iowa. When he was still quite young the family moved to this county where he grew to manhood.

On April 2, 1887, he united in marriage to Louisa Rushing. To this union was born one child, Olive.

He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, his daughter, Mrs. Olive Gough of Benton, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Mahala Padgett of Osceola; three brothers, Edmond and Andrew of Osceola and William of St. Joseph, Mo., three grand chreilen Ralph and Claude Hendrickson and Ruby Peters.

Two bothers and one sister preceded him in death, namely James, George and Sufrona.
Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
