April 19, 1984, Page 12Loyd G. Loomis, son of James W. and Lillie Goodrich Loomis, was born in St. Edwards, NE on August 13, 1912 and passed away on April 9, 1984 at his home in Osceola at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 26 days.
The family moved back to Clarke County in 1914 where Loyd was raised and where he received his education in the Truro, IA schools.
Loyd was married to Edith Wagner in Arkansas on January 1, 1952. He spent his entire life in construction work until illness forced his retirement in 1972.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Mabel.
He leaves to mourn his passing: His wife, Edith of Osceola, IA; his brother, Cecil Loomis of Des Moines, IA; his uncle, Frank Goodrich and his nephew, Stan Lillard of Phoenix, AZ, as well as a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Kale Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford Haider officiating. Interment was in the Garden Grove cemetery, Garden Grove.
